I often hear people telling me, “Oh, I can’t dance”.
I would then have them on the dance floor and say, “Just shift your weight. The easiest is from side to side, and then you can try front and back.”
That, to me is the start of dancing. Most of the time we dancers are just shifting weight from one leg/limb to the other, and most of the time it should be natural – as in, it is either the most straightforward path where your legs/limbs can move. Only in some choreography or training exercises that we train for trickier ways to do so.
But you don’t need that to enjoy dancing.
These two have proved my point again and again. Just look how simple they move from left to right, and yet enjoyable to them to dance and for us to watch! ❤️
